Semi‑Custom Website

Semi-Custom website design is built around one of our carefully crafted templates, customised to reflect your brand, content, and visual identity. This approach offers a refined, efficient way to launch a professional website without starting entirely from scratch.

The structure and foundation are already in place, allowing us to focus on tailoring layouts, typography, colours, and content so the final result feels cohesive, polished, and uniquely yours.

  • For a Custom Website Design project, we begin with a discovery call to set your goals, understand your audience, and — if you already have a site — review what's working and what isn't. From there, we send a detailed questionnaire and develop a sitemap and site structure built around your strategy, not just your content. Once that's approved, we set up a shared drive for you to submit your copy and images at your own pace.

    For a Semi-Custom Website Design project, you'll start by choosing your template. We then send an onboarding guide that walks you through the process step by step, along with a dedicated file for your copy and a folder for your images.

  • Yes. Payment is structured as part of your contract — typically 50/50 for Semi-Custom projects, and scoped to project size for Custom projects. Full payment terms are confirmed before any work begins, so there are no surprises once your project is underway.

  • Custom projects typically run 3–5 weeks. Semi-Custom projects typically run 2–4 weeks. Both timelines depend on how quickly content and feedback come back to us along the way.

  • Custom projects include 3 rounds. Semi-Custom projects include 1 round, reflecting the faster turnaround and the fact that the core structure is already built.

  • Yes. For Semi-Custom, additional pages or functionality can be added depending on your template and needs. For Custom, advanced functionality like e-commerce, memberships, or third-party integrations is scoped and quoted separately, so your initial investment reflects exactly what you need — not more.

  • The right platform depends on what your website needs to do first: present your work, or sell at scale.

    Squarespace is the stronger choice for portfolio, service, and content-led websites — interior designers, agencies, consultants, coaches — where design quality and storytelling matter as much as functionality. It handles simpler e-commerce well (a curated shop, digital products, bookings) without the added cost or complexity Shopify requires for the same features.

    Shopify is built for e-commerce first. If you're selling physical products at meaningful volume, managing inventory across multiple channels, or planning to sell internationally in multiple currencies, Shopify's infrastructure will serve you better long-term than Squarespace's commerce tools.

    Most of our clients — interior designers, creative agencies, wellness and lifestyle brands — are best served by Squarespace. Furniture, homeware, and product-led brands selling at scale are the clearest case for Shopify. We'll advise on this directly during your discovery call, based on what you're actually selling and how.

  • Yes — every project includes SEO foundations: proper meta titles, descriptions, and technical setup from day one, so your site is built to be found, not just to look good.

  • Every project includes one month of post-launch support, so we're on hand to catch anything that needs adjusting once your site is live and being used in the real world.

    After that, our Website Care plans keep your site running smoothly long-term — regular updates, technical maintenance, and small content changes, so your website stays current without you needing to manage it yourself. This is especially useful if Squarespace or Shopify release platform updates that affect your site, or if your business grows and your site needs to grow with it.
